Join us for the BCU HELS Burns Conference 2024, an online event dedicated to exploring the latest advancements and innovations in burn care and celebrating the experiences of burn survivors. This conference brings together leading experts, researchers, and healthcare professionals to share their insights, experiences and best practices in the field of burn treatment and recovery.
What to Expect:
- Keynote Speaker: Hear from a renowned specialist in burn care, Nicole Lee: Coined by Fire: Learning from History. Nicole is a Burns Matron, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Incoming President, British Burn Association and a BACCN and British Burn Association Board member
Participate in interactive sessions covering topics including:
- Burn prevention and public health: strategies for reducing the incidence
- Social Media Influence and Burn: The Tiktok Experience
- Special Considerations in Paediatric Burns
- The Burn Survivor stories… Their journeys and coping mechanisms (the UHB experience)
- Burn Research and clinical trials
- Panel discussion by different nursing fields (Adult, Mental health, Learning Disability and Children & Young people)
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow attendees during our networking events, including a welcome reception and coffee break.
- Library display: Explore the exhibit of resources on burn injuries at the Seacole Library throughout the week.
You can win a £50 Amazon voucher. To enter, submit an artwork or picture with a write-up of what burn injuries mean to you (not more than 300 words). The person with the highest vote wins the voucher. This should be sent to funmilayo.salawu-adeitan@bcu.ac.uk by August 23rd, 2024.
