Alister Scott, Professor of Environmental and Spatial Planning at Birmingham School of the Built Environment (BSBE) has been sharing his views across national media on community planning and recent changes to planning policy.

Professor Scott took part in an online debate hosted by The Guardian earlier this week, discussing the government's new planning guidance and the concerns that have been raised.

"The government has no long term vision. Everything is built on a short-term response to the recession rather than a wider view of what kind of society we want," said Professor Scott. View Professor Scott's blog here.
