Students return from “inspiring” Barcelona ‘Gaudi Fest’ study trip

A group of students from Birmingham School of Architecture and Design have recently returned from an “inspiring” study trip to Barcelona, organised by lecturer Richard Underhill, to explore the work of Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi.

The visit

The visit, coined the ‘Gaudi Fest’, began on 6 February and included a selection of students from the Product Design programme offered by the School, including the courses BA (Hons) Product Design, BA (Hons) Furniture and Lifestyle Products and BA (Hons) 3D Designer Maker.

The itinerary

Throughout the five-day trip the students visited some of the main iconic architectural attractions on offer in Barcelona. This included:

  • Monday 8 February – Sagrada Familia
  • Tuesday 9 February – Parc Guell
  • Wednesday 10 February – Casa Mila ‘La Pedrera’.
