Students on the BA (Hons) Architecture Level 4 course and BA (Hons) Interior Design Level 5 course are set to present concepts for the ‘Designed for Life’ project.
Final presentations will be made on Friday 11 December with the individuals’ designs being shown to a panel of reviewers including tutors, third year architecture students and second year interior design students who have also been working on the same site.
The project commenced on Tuesday 10 November with the group task and is is the third to be commissioned to the students, building upon skills learned in Projects 1 and 2 and introducing the student to spatial planning of interior space. Victoria Farrow, Programme Director on BA (Hons) Architecture said:
Following this exercise, the students then entered the individual part of the project, which involved the design of a dwelling space for two clients; the author and a character from a fiction book of the students’ choice. After initial design proposals had been made, the students tested their preliminary solutions for lighting and were permitted to make one change to the existing building which would improve the lighting quality within the spaces created.
