Postgraduate students present futuristic concepts for access covers to leading supplier

A selection of 14 MA Product Design and MA Design and Visualisation students recently presented designs for access covers to leading UK ductile iron and cast iron supplier Saint-Gobain PAM.

The presentation took place on Tuesday 8 March at the MA Product Design studios housed in Birmingham City University’s Parkside Building and included a panel of designers and Saint-Gobain PAM representatives, who awarded three design proposals.

MA Product Design student Ziqiao WANG won the Conceptualism Design Award sponsored by Saint-Gobain PAM, receiving a £1000 cash prize. Ziqiao Wang elaborates on his experience and his winning design:

The MA Product Design course at Birmingham School of Architecture and Design encourages insights into the real world but also pushes and challenges students to “rethink the accepted norm” and make connections with the industry. MA Product Design Course Director, Nuno Lourinho said:
