After a successful series of conferences in 2015, Landscape Architecture PhD student Anastasia Nikologianni looks ahead to a busy schedule of national and international conferences in 2016.

Birmingham City University

The nearest event starts on Thursday 21 January and is entitled ‘Sense – Experiment – Surprise – Understanding: PhD Research in Practice’ at Nottingham Trent University, UK.

RESCON15

Anastasia’s most recent conference the ‘RESCON15’ was hailed a ‘great success’, held on Friday 11 December at the University's Parkside Building. The event included three parallel sessions running including introductions from professor Cliff Alan (VC), the BCU EU research, PGR Net and keynote from Professor Julian Beer. Anastasia said:

Roles and responsibilities

As part of Anastasia’s role in the conference, the student had a number of different responsibilities including presenting part of her research entitled ‘Landscape Idea; concept and implementation strategies’ based on the case study visits she did during the summer.

The conference also included the showcasing of a poster entitled ‘Identifying Spatial Quality in Climate Adaptation Landscape Projects’ detailing some of the findings from Anastasia’s Netherlands case study, focusing on the extent to which spatial quality can be delivered in regional landscape strategies.
