Kathryn Moore, Professor of Landscape Architecture, is visiting Russia this month as part of her role as President of the International Federation of Landscape Architects.

The weekend-trip to the 52nd IFLA World Congress started with the World Council in Moscow on Saturday, to which all IFLA delegates were welcome, followed by the World Congress Ceremony in Sankt-Petersburg.

Kathryn said: “These are the most important events in the IFLA calendar and all events so far have been momentous occasions. It is an absolute honour to be an ambassador for the IFLA all around the world and I look forward to the many extremely exciting times ahead.”

Kathryn has also recently returned from an executive committee meeting in Copenhagen for the World Design Summit to be held in 2017 in Montreal. Prior to being elected by the IFLA, Kathryn was previously president of the Landscape Institute in 2004.

The professor now looks to “help the IFLA play an important international leadership and consultative role, provide a global network of advice and support for members to draw upon, promote the profession, inspire its members and attain global recognition through its awards and competitions.”

Studying for a degree in Architecture at our University will quite simply teach you how to become an architect. We are the only RIBA-accredited School of Architecture in the region.
