Dr Friso Jansen is a Lecturer in Law. He is the module leader for Public Law on the LLB and PGDL programmes. He is also responsible for the LLM module on Global Health Law.
Prior to joining Birmingham City University in February 2017, Friso pursued a DPhil at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Oxford. This work involves a study into the drivers for the development of medical practice guidelines in England and the Netherlands. He is currently in the process of publishing a monograph based on this work.
Before going to Oxford, he worked at the Applied Science University of Amsterdam and the University of Groningen. He taught Insolvency Law, Legal Aid, Practice Skills, Public Law and Constitutional Law and conducted research on the evaluation of legislation.
Friso holds an LLB and LLM in Law and Public Policy from the University of Groningen, in addition he has an LLM on Legal Research from the same university. Furthermore he holds an MSc in Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a DPhil from the University of Oxford.
