Meet the key people behind the BCU Law Clinic, passionate about providing practical legal advice and support to our local community.

Samantha Gargaro

Director of BCU Law Clinic, Associate Professor

Samantha has worked as a Solicitor in private practice since qualifying in 1991, specialising in Personal Injury cases. Her main area of work was in Employers' Liability. The majority of her career was spent with national Personal Injury firm Russell Jones and Walker which became Slater and Gordon in 2012.

Fiona Farrell

Senior Associate Solicitor and Senior Lecturer

Fiona was named Birmingham Law Society's Solicitor of the Year 2023, a Legal 500 and Chambers rated tier 1 lawyer named Associate to Watch in 2020, 21, 22 and Rising Star in 2022 and 2023.

She is a commercial senior family solicitor, with 17 years post qualification experience, and is a Senior Lecturer and Solicitor within the BCU Pro Bono Legal Clinic.

Sheba Sheiybani-Monfared

Law Faculty Operations 

Sheba is an experienced legal professional having worked in several firms securing experience in both family and conveyancing. She worked as a Housing advocate under the Duty Possession Scheme at Birmingham Civil Court for some 12 years and is known for her empathetic and organised approach.

Sheba has worked at the Law Clinic since 2020 and is the Faculty Operations Assistant ensuring everything runs smoothly.
