Jane Barrett

Jane joined BCU as a Senior Lecturer in March 2025. Jane worked as an immigration solicitor in legal aid and not-for-profit organisations for 15 years before moving into Clinical Legal Education in 2024. Whilst in practice, Jane worked on a range of immigration, asylum and human rights cases. She has a particular interest in cases involving gender-based violence and refugee family reunion. Jane is particularly motivated by inspiring law students to undertake a career in immigration law, increasing access to justice and by developing reflective practice within the legal profession.
