Our graduates

Rebecca Share, Gemmology graduate, is now the Jewellery manager at The Fine Jewellery Company in Birmingham

Rebecca Share Since graduation, I've built up a wealth of experience because I've worked across the board. I've had the opportunity to work in everything from diamond dealing to gemstone testing! And I've used that experience and expertise to become The Jewellery Manager of two online Jewellery stores - The Fine Jewellery Company and The Jewellers!

Cheryl Owen, Gemmology graduate, employee at The Fine Jewellery Company and is returning to study at the School of Jewellery!

Cheryl Owen

I have gained a lot of experience since graduating. I worked in the gem lab at the Assay Office for a few years before moving to work where I am at The Fine Jewellery Company. Jewellery is a real passion of mine and I also do the odd bit of gemmology in my spare time for pleasure.

Richard Vinten, Design for industry 2010-2011, first class honours

Design for industry is the perfect name for course; it definitely got me ready for stepping out into the real world that is the jewellery industry. The School is an excellent social place, in the perfect location with many links to the jewellery trade, and lots of experienced and motivating staff.

Claudia Anne Noble, HND Jewellery and Silversmithing 2013

Fantastic teaching from brilliant staff and technicians who always went above and beyond to help students realise their full potential! I had the most rewarding two years of my life on the HND and I cannot recommend the course highly enough. It provided me with the skills to work in the real world.

Jenna Tsang, Design for Industry

The time I spent at the School of Jewellery was the best experience I’ve had in my educational years. There was a great learning and social environment; the tutors were amazing, they provided the knowledge I needed to start my professional career. I’m proud to be a graduate of the School of Jewellery.

Fei Liu, Silversmithing (2001), Alumni of the Year 2010

I still remember my first day of studying at the School of Jewellery. It had a huge influence on me. Arriving in the West opened my eyes to all sorts of exciting things I wasn’t aware of in western culture, such as contemporary art, the Bauhaus, Art Deco and post-modernism. And, of course, I learned about all the great landmarks in jewellery history such as the work of John Donald.

Helen Dobson, Design for Industry

Studying both the HND and Design for Industry courses gave me the skills, knowledge and understanding I needed to begin a career in this challenging industry. Since graduating I have continued to learn constantly but the ongoing support from the School of Jewllery team is really what has given me the confidence to succeed.
