Top tip: phone home
When you reach the UK, it's a good idea to call home and let your friends and family know that you’ve arrived safely.
International phone cards are available from Travelex at Birmingham Airport, situated near arrivals and open from 4am to 10pm. Just look out for the Travelex sign. At other airports, ask at the information desk for the nearest shop where you can purchase a phone card.
It’s best to buy a phone card rather than use your mobile, which can be expensive. Away from the airport, you can buy phone cards from a Post Office or a newsagent.
If you choose not to purchase a phone card yet, most airports, train stations and trains will have free WiFi for you to contact friends and family.
