Gender Inclusion in Research Special Interest Group

The Gender Inclusion in Research Special Interest Group is a cross-discipline, cross-BCU research group, which aims to create a more inclusive, intersectional and accessible research environment for all.

It is a research practice/capacity building group that will support work undertaken within other BCU research centres and research clusters.

The group is keen to support our gender diverse research students and staff, in addition to our research participants, and we welcome anyone who is interested in gender inclusive research to join. We strive to provide a safe space to share intersectional, inclusive research practices and to promote BCU’s gender inclusive research along with research undertaken by our gender diverse staff and students.

The group currently represents research under the following areas, and we are open to include representation from any area that is/aims to be gender inclusive:

  • Health
  • Psychology
  • Education
  • Media and culture
  • Computing and digital technology
  • Art

We also have several PhD student members, and all students are welcome to join.
