BCU Partnership with Universities in Viet Nam

The British Council Higher Education Partner Scheme is designed to facilitate contact and exchanges between UK and Vietnamese Universities in order to enable knowledge exchange and transfer between partners. This in turn will strengthen, extend, and sustain existing relationships between all partner organisations.

BCU has had a long-standing relationship with the universities in this project since 2005. This was the second higher education partnership project and designed to build upon the first (2017-2018). The partnership was extended to include Hai Duong Medical Technical University.

The project was in two phases, clinical workshops on complex wound care and stoma care in Viet Nam.

Final outcome

Renewal of Memorandum of Understandings to facilitate health partnership working with BCU

A total of 155 nurses and nurse educators completed clinical train the trainer courses in either wound and stoma care

A total of 180 nurses and nurse educators attended education and training courses in understanding of complex wounds and the way in which negative pressure therapy can assist with healing

A total of 120 nurses and nurse educators education and training courses in increasing awareness and understanding of the global burden of sepsis and the role of the nurse

A total of 60 nurses with some nurse educators attended a study day on developing evidence base practice, quality improvement and research in infection prevention, sepsis, and wound care

All were assessed by pre and post questionnaires

Agreement has been reached on the introduction of virtual master classes in topics addressed by this project
