Dr. Emma Nenadic is Research Assistant in Music Education and supports a number of Birmingham Music Education Research Group projects. She is currently researching primary school composing, the development of creative pedagogies in primary school curricula and the impact of adapted instruments and equipment on access to whole class ensemble tuition. She is a Board Member 2023-2025 for the European Association for Music in Schools and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Emma holds a Music degree from the University of York and managed Learning and Participation programmes at music organisations B:Music, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Severn Arts, and West Midlands Music before obtaining her PhD in Education under the supervision of Professor Martin Fautley, Dr. Victoria Kinsella and Dr. Anthony Anderson. Her thesis centred on learning cultures within three English music education partnership projects encompassing choral, orchestral, and contemporary music settings.
