During this course you will wake up your inner trend watcher!

After this course you will be able to look at the world as a forecaster, spot interesting signs of change in various industries and create ‘trendslations’ for a specific brand or organisation.

Duration: 3 days
Dates: 12 - 14 July
Price: £400

This course is open to International students.

What's covered in this course?

In this live interactive online course you are introduced to the basics of trend forecasting and the 3-phased trend research cycle: scan, analyse, apply.

You will create a trend scan plan and learn-by-doing by going outside for trend spotting. On return, you will create a trend wall as a group using mural, a shared interactive online tool.

The next step is to analyse your findings from your trend wall and define various trend directions.

Last but not least, you will use your trend insights to kickstart your trend ideation.

As a group you will brainstorm about applying trends to specific organizations or brands.

The course ends by pitching a trend based innovative idea to your peers.

Testimonials

"Els Dragt was a superb lecturer, her course was so engaging and included a great variety of Field and Desk Research as well as working in groups and individual research. Each day I felt I had accomplished something new and so looked forward to the next. By the end of the week I felt extremely fulfilled and proud of what I had achieved and excited to implement these learnings into my place of business."

"From a design practitioner’s perspective, the course achieved a perfect balance between practice based research and critical collaboration. I found that working beyond my comfort zone resulted in an ‘re-energised me’… that was more pro-active, braver and certainly more inspired than normal."

"Els was a consummate presenter and coach. The digital resources that she had created were exceptional and together with her perfect pitch and pace made the learning in action crystal clear."

"The How to Research Trends Summer School appealed to my curious, creative and critical nature and was the best CPD course that I have ever attended."
