Dr Diana Haidar
Research Assistant in Open Data Engineering
Diana Haidar is currently a Research Assistant in Open Data Engineering in the School of Computing and Digital Technology at Birmingham City University (BCU) and a Data Scientist at Birmingham City Council (BCC).
Before she started her position at BCU, she was a Lecturer in Computer Science for more than two years in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University (LAU), Beirut, Lebanon (January 2019 - May 2021).
Dr Haidar received her PhD in Computing in 2018 from BCU, Birmingham, UK. She also has an MSc in Information and Decision Support Systems and a BSc in Computer Sciences from the Lebanese University, Beirut, Lebanon.
Dr Haidar is currently working on the Data Science Collaboration (DSC) project - an ongoing BCC-BCU funded initiative which started as part of the council’s Data programme in October 2019 and is currently focused on a Data as a Service (DaaS) approach. DSC empowers the council to harness data and deploy Business Intelligence to produce actionable information and insight with the aim to make better informed strategic and tactical decisions and target resources appropriately.
