Selina loved her job working in a corporate environment but always had the urge to pursue Art or an applied discipline so eventually took a leap of faith and applied to Birmingham City University through Clearing online.
"As a mature student I wasn’t anxious about my break in education, in fact I found my work experience well suited and transferable to my course.”
"The atmosphere within our art community is electric. There is a beautiful communication that runs between tutors, local artists, designers and curators which allows students the opportunity to work and collaborate with businesses in the region and internationally."
Inclusive, accessible, liberal and dynamic
"The University have been wonderful in supporting studying with a young child. My daughter is three and my tutors are always accommodating around my commitments making sure that mine and my daughter’s wellbeing takes priority.
"In my first year I have already developed as an artist, not only in skill but importantly how to critique, work as a team and challenge perspectives.
“The tutors celebrate our strengths and pride our individuality. They take the time to understand our characters and learning preferences to really get the most out of our taught sessions.”
Don't overthink it and just do it
"Don’t be fearful that it is too late. Birmingham City University will make sure you are fully up to date and prepared for your new academic term. It will be wonderful."
