Dr Deniz Yoruk

Dr Deniz E. Yoruk is a Research Fellow in Centre for Enterprise, Innovation and Growth (CEIG). Prior to joining Birmingham City Business School, she worked as teaching fellow in International Business and Economics at Aston Business School.

She holds a PhD in Innovation Management and Science and Technology Policy from SPRU - Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Having previously worked in various research projects funded by the European Union, ESRC and British Academy in Staffordshire University, the University of Sussex, University College London, and the University of Edinburgh, she has extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative research.

Her research covers a diverse range of industries and informs science, technology and industrial policies for local, regional and national economic development. Her research in CEIG focuses specifically on SME development and growth in the West Midlands.
