Current activity:

Laura is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Education , where her modules have included investigating the transition of students from college/sixth form to the School’s Engineering and Motorsport courses.

During her time with the University, Laura has taught material science modules, developed blended learning materials, worked within the eBusiness team to provide database systems and information studies, and implemented CAD service bureau to the jewellery industry. She has supervised a number of projects, including the design and fabrication of natural fibre composites for a Formula Student car seat. Her areas of expertise include automotive engineering, motorsports technology, mechanical engineering and use of CES software.

Laura Leyland is an Associate Professor and Acting Head of Centre of Engineering. She currently teaches on the BEng (Hons) programmes for Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering.
