The Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences is a globally oriented faculty, drawing on theories and practice from around the world to inform our learning environment.
The Faculty encompasses a range of specialist subjects, including Accountancy, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, Psychology and Social and Criminal Justice. It is renowned for its entrepreneurial and commercial focus and professional links across the city and beyond, including Birmingham Law Society, the four Inns of Court and a wide range of well-respected businesses.
Based in the Curzon Building at the University’s City Centre Campus, facilities include a City Trading Room equipped with the latest industry software such as Datastream Eikon, widely used by investment professionals and traders in the industry, a mock High Court and Magistrate’s Court, and Psychology labs.
Through our Law Clinic, students give advice to members of the community, providing opportunities to develop their professional skills with the added benefit of making a real contribution to the Birmingham legal community.
The Faculty is active in research in a range of areas, with research centres focusing on Accountancy, Finance and Economics; Enterprise, Innovation and Growth; American Legal Studies; Human Rights; Law, Science and Policy; Crime and Society; Health and Wellbeing; Security and
