Ian Bullock

BSc (Hons) Estate Management

Experienced Chartered Surveyor and Birmingham City University graduate Ian can’t commend the course highly enough…

An excellent grounding

“This course is a must for any aspiring graduate that wants a clear understanding of the Built Environment and the various specialisms that are available within the field,” says Ian. “The careful balance of lectures and seminars and the support of the lecturers is second to none.”

A relevant and varied course

It was the varied nature of the course that attracted Ian in the first place. “The aspects I found most useful were the Valuation and Building Pathology modules,” he says. “The Valuation module in particular is very current and relative to the current attributes required of a Chartered Surveyor.”

An ideal start to a successful career

Ian’s enviable career is testament to the course’s relevance and thoroughness. After graduation, he joined Countrywide Surveyors’ training programme, qualifying 18 months later to TechRICS (now AssocRICS) level. Five years in the field as a residential surveyor followed, before he joined a larger multi disciplined practice and attained MRICS status within 12 months. He’s currently working for Carpenter Surveyors, as a senior regional surveyor, helping to grow a thriving business. He also assists the RICS with assessment and valuable mentoring services.
