Dr Dominic Flynn

Dominic is, by training, a computationally-based aerodynamicist. He received his PhD in train aerodynamics from the University of Birmingham in 2015, and then took on the role of research fellow in wind engineering and train aerodynamics. In January 2018 he moved to BCU to take up the post of Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering.

Throughout his career, Dominic has worked with companies such as Network Rail and SNC-Lavalin on projects involving the crosswind assessment of trains and the analysis of track switch components that have since been installed on the UK rail network.
