Dr Saeed Talebi is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and the Built Environment; Birmingham City University. He has a PhD in the Built Environment and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

His role combines leadership, research, and teaching. Saeed is the Course Leader for BSc Quantity Surveying and he has taught on several areas including Innovation in construction, digital design and construction, project planning and control, cost management, procurement & contract administration, and lean construction at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Bringing practical experience of working on a number of projects, Saeed is researching and helping teams manage the interfaces between theory and practice. He has been engaged as either Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator in more than £200K funded research projects. He has been working on funded projects in which emerging surveying methods and Machin Learning are employed to automate defect detection in railway infrastructure.

Dr Saeed Talebi supervises self-motivated PhD students. Saeed has served in scientific committees of major international conferences and review boards of frontline journals. He is currently the Guest Editor of the journal of Smart & Sustainable Built Environment and Sustainability journal.

Saeed is a board member of the Community of Practitioners-Lean Construction Institute (North West Chapter), and is an active member of International Group for Lean Construction.
