TACTILE celebrates the hands-on craftsmanship and material mastery that technicians bring to both their professional lives and personal creative practices.

Working across a wide variety of mediums, technicians possess the breadth of skills needed to transform raw materials into functional objects and artworks. From sculpted wooden furniture to intricate typesetting, every process preserves the unique character, physical marks, and tangible depth of the materials themselves, inviting viewers to experience the undeniable power of touch in art and design.

All work showcased in this exhibition is made by technicians at BCU and highlights the importance of materials research, knowledge and making, and its direct input into creative subject education.
