Christina Compton

Technical Manager

Birmingham School of Art

A creative management professional with over twelve years’ experience of working within the arts and education to a Postgraduate level. Christina’s specialism of arts management includes education, business, finance, marketing, sponsorship, events management and public relations.

Working within the industry with a variety of different educational institutions, arts organisations, theatres, charities and fine auction houses over the years, Christina has worked on many interesting projects including international arts festivals such as the Diffusion Festival and the Venice Biennale, large and small scale exhibitions and performances, and community darkrooms for courses in photography.

At BCU Christina’s role includes dealing with Health and Safety, Risk Assessments, managing teams, technical facilities and workshops, maintenance, finances, projects management and exhibition builds.

Christina’s own artistic practise includes photography, sculpture, painting, drawing, textiles, and ceramics. She is also currently developing new skills such as in printmaking and CAD to further support facilities at the school.
