Josephine has been teaching at Birmingham City University (BCU) since September 2019. During this time she has worked with the Level 6 (3rd year) cohort where she has been GradShow Coordinator, EDI Champion and Co:Lab tutor, and with the Level 4 (1st year) cohort as both lecturer and year lead, drawing on her skills from practice and her own university experience to teach students to become ‘experts’ in Interior Architecture and Design whilst also supporting them as they become settled into higher education.

Prior to her appointment at BCU she worked for a large international architectural practice as Associate and Lead Interior Designer. During her time she led the interiors team in designing projects in all sectors, in varying scales, and in various countries across the world. Josephine draws upon her own experience in practice, as well as her time working with junior designers to help them develop, regularly in her teaching.

As a result of Josephine’s performance on the PGCert/APA, she has been selected to join a roundtable with the All Parliamentary Group on Apprenticeships in association with the Minister for Skills, Further and Higher Education, Robert Halfon MP and on behalf of the university Alliance.
