Birmingham City University is committed to compliance with the Higher Education Senior Staff Remuneration Code that was published in June 2018. This report therefore outlines the University’s approach to matters relating to the remuneration of its Senior Staff and decisions taken during the year. The report was approved at the Board of Governors meeting on 27 November 2018 and is now available below.

Vice-Chancellor's salary

Professor Philip Plowden assumed the role of Vice-Chancellor at Birmingham City University on 1 September 2017.

The Vice-Chancellor’s salary is reported annually in the University’s financial statements. For the year from 1 August 2018 to 31 July 2019 the statements will be published no later than 31 January 2020.

Ahead of this and in the interests of openness, transparency and accountability, the Vice-Chancellor has made available details of his salary and estimated employer’s pension contribution for the year covering August 2017 to July 2018.
