BA (Hons) Video Game Digital Art
“Not only was BCU local to me but it also offered courses that were tailored to accessing the industry I wished to pursue a career in – the gaming industry.
“My time at BCU was great, helping to develop my skills and teaching me everything I needed to know to pursue my dream career. It prepared me for the demands and expectations of a professional role.
“I am now a Junior Graphic Artist at Inspired Entertainment, meaning that I am responsible for designing and illustrating characters and icons for interactive mobile games.
“With the gaming industry being so competitive to break into, I am immensely proud that I was able to start this role in April 2026, just eight months after graduating! Seeing how real studios operate while studying at BCU really helped make this happen.
“Being able to work on large-scale projects at BCU gave me valuable experience in developing video games, simulating industry pipelines and understanding studio practises.
“I am so proud of the opportunities that I have been able to make the most of since graduating, especially landing my first Industry role as a Junior Artist and my freelance Concept Art projects. It is great that I am now able to use the skills I developed while studying in a professional setting.
“The best thing about working in Birmingham is the people! The West Midlands is known for its diversity, which is great as I get to meet and work with people from so many different backgrounds. Plus, I love the fact that I get to use my creative skills in my current role, making art for games every day is all I’ve ever dreamed of!”
