Prior to moving into education, Jim worked as a mental health nurse in in-patient and community mental health settings, specialising in providing urgent and crisis care to working age adults.

As an academic, Jim has worked across undergraduate and postgraduate nurse education, focusing on teaching clinical nursing skills and principles of recovery, specialising on using recovery-oriented approaches for people who hear voices. Jim co-ordinates a module on our childhood, adolescence and young adulthood mental health pathway. He is currently the Academic Lead for Apprenticeships and Partnerships.
