Odira Morewabone

Odira Morewabone is a visual communication educator, creative practitioner and researcher working across fashion communication, graphic communication design, moving image, photography and art direction. Alongside teaching at Central Saint Martins, Camberwell College of Arts and Chelsea College of Art, his professional practice has included creative research, treatment design and fashion communication projects with organisations such as Hidden Agency’s Hi-Fi, as well as London Fashion Week collaborations with emerging designers.

His teaching is centred on research-led, inclusive and practice-based learning, with particular interests in visual storytelling, styling, image-making, creative direction and student progression. A key strand of his teaching practice is concerned with decolonising creative education: broadening the references, histories and cultural perspectives through which students encounter fashion communication and design, while encouraging critical discussion around representation, authorship, identity and whose knowledge is centred within the curriculum.

Outside of teaching and creative practice, Odira is a keen beekeeper, an interest that reflects his wider curiosity about communities, systems, social structures and the relationships between people and their environments.
