Andrew Trujillo is an Industrial designer specialised in transportation who was born and brought up in Colombia, but who has spent many years in the UK and the Netherlands. He has worked in industry since graduation and has mainly worked as a yacht designer, designing some 40+ built yachts yachts from 10m to 107m in length; constructed in 10 different countries. He continues to work on projects in Industry that range from maritime to other forms of transport, including motorhomes, aviation interiors, caravans, agricultural vehicles, bicycles, trikes and quadricycles. He has designed numerous yacht interiors that range from classic to contemporary, and several award-winning yacht exteriors including 94 metre Motor Yacht Viva and 107 metre Motor Yacht Luminosity. Andrew has worked for many of the most prestigious yacht design studios in the Uk and the Netherlands, Including Tony Castro, Ken Freivokh, Evan Marshall, Guido de Groot, Azure Naval Architects and GL Watson,etc. Andrew has his own small design studio (Andrew Trujillo Design) and continues to take on Yacht and Transport design projects in his own time.

Andrew joined BCU in January 2019 and has been a lecturer in both Interior Architecture and also in Product Design. At BCU Andrew has taught on Foundation, Level 4, 5 and 6. His interests at BCU have revolved around sustainable design and understanding materials/ processes. He has run Co-Lab/live projects for 6 years now that have often run with a theme close to his professional experience, giving students a chance to take on marine and small vehicle interior / product design projects.

Andrew enjoys solving technical/engineering design problems, making models and prototypes, plus analogue and digital visualisation.
