Luke Reynolds

Luke is a lecturer in the department of Architecture and Built Environment, his practice sits at the intersection of digital design, visual communication, and architectural representation, exploring how digital tools and media shape the way spatial design is communicated, taught, and understood. He is particularly interested in the gap between digital technology and design communication, and in equipping graduates with the skills to navigate an industry in constant technical change.

Alongside this, Luke is committed to digital design education as a creative and practical discipline. He develops approaches to teaching that integrate software literacy, visual communication, and design production across architectural courses.

Luke also works as a Senior Graphic Designer at Edge Urban Design, a Birmingham-based landscape and urban design studio, where he applies his design practices to projects in landscape and urban design. This practice-based work feeds directly back into his teaching, keeping his approach grounded in current industry tools and processes.

He has a strong interest in community engagement through design, having contributed graphic design to participatory projects that connect people with place through creative, hands-on ways of working. He also has a growing interest in place branding and landscape interpretation, exploring how design can help communicate the identity and character of a site to the people who use it.

He welcomes collaboration across disciplines, particularly work that connects digital design and visual communication with architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture and urban design.
