Dr Kaveh Asiaei
Kaveh joined Birmingham City Business School at BCU in 2024 as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting. He has over a decade of experience in higher education, having previously taught at Monash University as a Senior Lecturer, where he was recognized as an award-winning educator for three consecutive years for developing and leading modules, including Global Issues in Accounting and Literature Review (both founder-taught modules), as well as Audit & Assurance and Accounting for Business. He has consistently achieved strong teaching evaluations across undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has supervised more than 30 postgraduate students, including several PhD completions. With several years of experience as an auditor, Kaveh brings valuable industry insight into his teaching. He is also an Associate Member of CPA Australia
Kaveh received his PhD in Accounting from the Faculty of Business & Accountancy (AACSB and AMBA accredited institution) at the University of Malaya (#58 in QS World University Rankings) in early 2014.Kaveh received his PhD in Accounting from the Faculty of Business & Accountancy (AACSB and AMBA accredited institution), at the University of Malaya (#60 in QS World University Rankings) in early 2014.
As an award-winning researcher, Kaveh is deeply passionate about research, complementing his teaching accomplishments. His research interests span interdisciplinary areas, with a primary focus on sustainability accounting, intellectual capital, and performance measurement systems. His work has been published in leading international journals and contributes to ongoing developments in accounting and management research.
He also serves as an editorial board member for Management Decision and actively contributes as an active reviewer for several leading academic journals, including the British Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Accounting Forum, Research Policy, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Intellectual Capital, Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal, Managerial Auditing Journal, and many others.
