1) Dad’s Lane

Reason to visit: This award-winning chippy has options for sitting in and taking out. If you're looking to try fish and chips for the first time or you just want to find a good local, then you can't go wrong with Dad's Lane Fish Bar. 

2) Chris’s Fish Bar

Location: 880 Aldridge Road | Great Barr, Birmingham B44 8NT
Reason to visit: If you love a decent portion of fish and chips, this is the place for you. It's no wonder that takeaway fans alike have rated it highly on Tripadvisor.

3) Bedder's Fish and Chips

Location: 898 Coventry Road, Birmingham B10 0UA
Reason to visit: Serving generous portions of fish and chips to take out or dine in. With chunky chips and buttered bread with mushy peas or curry sauce, it's a combination that can’t go wrong.

4) Pisces Fish Bar

Location: 2146A Coventry Rd, Birmingham B26 3JB
Reason to visit: Another favourite on Tripadvisor, you can order for collection or delivery from their range of fish, chips and other dishes such as burgers and wraps. Their freshly made chips and great portion sizes are definitely worth the wait.

Reason to visit: Not only does Atlantis have a modern take away area towards the front of the shop, there's the chance to have a sit down meal in a pleasant restaurant area at the back.

6) The Ivy

Location: 67-71 Temple Row, Birmingham B2 5LS
Reason to visit: For possibly the fanciest fish and chips of your life, look no further. You'll find this crowd pleaser on the menu amongst The Ivy's fine dining favourites.

7) The Lost and Found

Location: 8 Bennetts Hill, Birmingham B2 5RS
Reason to visit: The Lost and Found offers a host of pub grub classics and you really can't beat their battered cod with triple-cooked chips served with minted mushy peas and seaweed tartare sauce.
