Just a short walk down from Asha’s is Itihaas, a restaurant known for their unique interior and specialist menu featuring a whole range of different curries to tuck in to! Having student budget friendly prices and just being a short walk away from our City Centre campus, Ithiaas is a perfect place to enjoy a curry with your friends.
Sitting in TripAdvisor’s top 20 best Indian restaurants, The New Soho Tavern is a curry lover’s dream! The restaurant, which won Best Desi Pub & Grill 2019, devotes itself to creating mouth-watering Indian dishes including a great selection of chicken, lamb and veggie curries. If their curries are anything like their mixed grills then you’re in for a treat.
4. Indian Streatery
The team of all-female chefs at the Indian Streatery serve up authentic Indian dishes with a street food vibe, think everything from traditional curries to Indian style tapas. Head to their place on Bennetts Hill for a chilled evening meal or check out their grab and go menu for a quick yet very tasty lunch option.
If you like your curry to come with a michelin star then Opheem is the place for you. Birmingham Chef Aktar Islam pushes the boundaries with Indian flavours, creating an experience you won’t forget anytime soon.
For something fresh and vibrant head to Tamatanga on Navigation Street. They’re pretty laid back so there’s no need to book, although we recommend turning up before 7pm for their 2 for 1 cocktails every day!
It’s worth the trip out of the City Centre to Moseley for a feast at The Covered Wagon. This multi award winning pub serves gourmet Indian food alongside draught beer and other drinks, available for delivery too!
Paying homage to Bombay’s Swadeshi Market, Dishoom Birmingham oozes culture and tradition and plenty of tasty dishes to choose from. Plus, there’s no need to wait until dinner, why not start your day with an Indian breakfast or light lunch?
