Mishark's placement at East Birmingham Youth Offending Service

There's no better way to prepare for work than to experience it first-hand. Social Science student Mishark completed his placement at East Birmingham Youth Offending Service, making a real difference to people's lives.

Mishark chose to complete his placement at East Birmingham Youth Offending Service, helping young people stay away from crime rather than going back to prison as adults. Every day, he works to improve the lives of young people by improving their connections within the community, awareness of knife crime and knowledge of the British legal system.

Mishark's placement allows him to make a difference every day and learn the skills he needs to work in the real world.

Past social science placements have seen our students work with organisations such as the NHS, West Midlands Police, HM Prisons and Probation Services, Citizens Advice, local schools and youth mentoring services.
