Welcome Message

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the programme as you begin on this exciting journey. Induction week will commence 14th September, it is important that you attend to help ensure a smooth and successful transition into University life. During this week you will also have the opportunity to meet with your fellow students, academic staff and take part in a range of activities.

You will be supported throughout your studies by a personal academic tutor alongside access to a wide range of University support services including student wellbeing and academic skills to help you succeed.

Alongside integrated learning with students from all four fields of nursing you will develop specialist knowledge and skills in children’s nursing including caring for infants, children and young people with a range of physical, developmental and complex healthcare needs.

Practice placements are central to your learning giving you experience across a variety of settings. In addition, you will also engage in simulated learning to build confidence and clinical skills. During each placement you will be supported by experienced practitioners including a practice supervisor and assessor who will guide your learning and support your development in practice.

We also encourage you to attend the Student Union Fairs taking place on:
15th September – City South and 16-17th September – City Centre.

As you begin this journey with us, remember:
“Every nurse was once a student who believed they could make a difference”.

Best Wishes
