Welcome Message

Welcome to the MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme at Birmingham City University.

As Course Lead, and on behalf of the course team, I would like to warmly welcome you to the programme. We are delighted that you will be joining us and hope you are excited to begin your studies and take advantage of the many learning and development opportunities ahead.

We strongly encourage you to attend Induction Week, commencing 14 September. This will be an important opportunity to meet academic staff and fellow students, familiarise yourself with the university and its facilities, and learn about the support available to help you settle into postgraduate study. Throughout your studies, you will be supported by your personal tutor, the course team, and a range of university support services.

In your first semester, you will explore key areas including logistics strategy, procurement and supply management, operations management, sustainability, circular economy principles, and data-driven decision-making. You will also examine the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies in transforming modern supply chains. Through case studies and real-world business challenges, you will develop the skills required for careers in logistics, supply chain management, procurement, and operations.

We also encourage you to visit the Students’ Union Fairs and make the most of the opportunities available across the wider BCU community.

We look forward to meeting you during Induction Week and supporting you throughout your MSc journey.

  • Reusable water bottle
  • Snack
  • Money

And remember, the weather in Birmingham can be changeable!
