Course Leader
Welcome Message
Welcome to our MSc Construction Project Management course! We are very honoured to be your choice of postgraduate study.
Our students in this course come from various backgrounds. You may come from different disciplines of construction industry, such as civil engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, real estate and construction management. Some of you have years’ construction working experience and know the industry inside out, while some of you may have recently completed your undergraduate study. And you may come from overseas with very different cultures, traditions and religions. But you have the same aspiration, that is to become a competent construction project manager and have a long-lasting career in the construction industry. The diversity of our students on this course will enrich your learning experience tremendously by sharing ideas and experience.
Undergoing a postgraduate study is indeed a challenging and demanding journey. But we are here to support you all the way through. By the end of this course, we hope you find this journey is also very rewarding. You will not only learn knowledge about construction project management to become a competent practitioner, but more importantly, develop your intellectual capability to become a reflective, life-long learner with critical thinking so you can continuously develop your career in whatever the direction you choose. When reflecting on the experience on this course, a previous graduate who successfully completed the course with Distinction said that this course had changed his way of thinking and how he viewed the construction industry and its practice. This is the biggest compliment we could wish for, and we hope we can achieve the same with you this time.
Besides the hard work, we also hope you can enjoy your time with us. As the 2nd city of Britain, Birmingham has a lot to offer due to its rich history and diverse culture. You may also make some life-long friends on this course.
On behalf of the course team, welcome on board! We are looking forward to working with you and helping you to achieve your goals.
Course Location
Your course will mainly be taught in:
Millennium Point, City Centre Campus (Room numbers start with MP)
Supporting your transition
During Welcome Week, you’ll get to meet our Student Ambassadors as soon as you walk onto campus. They’ll be there to support you with finding your Student Support Centre, collecting your ID card and guiding you in the right direction, and for a friendly hello!
