You can apply for student finance now if you’re planning to study a full-time, undergraduate course at Birmingham City University. Many students starting in September have already applied for their finance.
I don’t know if I got on my course
You don’t need to wait until you’re told that you’ve got on your course. You can always change the details if you need to after you’ve got your A-Level results. But, if you apply now, Student Finance England can start looking at your application.
What happens if I don’t apply now?
If you wait and apply later, your money might not be ready in time. Applying now is the only way to make sure you have your full student finance in time to start your course.
If you’re applying for extra support, such as Disabled Students’ Allowances or Childcare Grant, it can take a bit longer to work out the full amount you can get. So, apply now.
If your money isn’t sorted for the start of your course, you might not be able to pay your tuition fees or living costs. Unfortunately, this might mean you need to drop out of your course or apply for Hardship Loans.
I’ve filled in my bit, but I’m waiting on my parents doing theirs
Student Finance England can’t finish working on your application until they have all the information they need. Keep checking in with your parents to make sure they’ve filled in their income details.
