    Senior Lecturer in Criminology with Security Studies, Deputy Course Director and Pathway Link Tutor

    For the last 20 years Dr Lily Hamourtziadou  has researched and taught international politics and security. She is also principal researcher for Iraq Body Count, a leading NGO, twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

    Dr Gary Hazeldine  has taught Sociology at Birmingham City University since 2007. Prior to this he taught at the University of Brighton, the University of Sussex, and Manchester Metropolitan University.

    Jonathan has been working within teaching and learning for 11 years at a number of institutions and providers. His academic studies began at Northumbria University, where he graduated with both a BSc Criminology and MSc Homeland Security.

    David Kane discovered his passion for research while studying for his BA at UCE and was fortunate to secure a position in a research department following graduation.

    Craig Kelly is a Lecturer in  Criminology at Birmingham City University, where he has taught since 2018, covering topics such as transnational organised and corporate crime, crime in its historical and political context and beyond statistics.

    Nathan has  been a Lecturer in Criminology at Birmingham City University since September 2018 where he leads and teaches on a number of Foundation and Undergraduate Criminology modules.  Nathan's  teaching and research interests primarily centre around issues impacting rural areas.

    Dr Adam Lynes  is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology  at Birmingham City University, where he has taught since 2012, covering topics such as criminological theory, homicide, and transnational organised and corporate crime.

  • Professor Morag MacDonald

    Director, SREU

    Professor Morag MacDonald  started her research career due to her concern about prisoners who were HIV positive in UK prisons. Becoming an academic allowed her to research the subject and provided a position from which to contribute to policy making in this area.
