Kate has worked in higher education since 1999, primarily as a Widening Participation programme manager, but undertook a full-time doctorate funded by the HEA in 2012, completing in 2016 at the age of 50.

Kate took on her first academic role in 2015 and is now able to build on her knowledge of the sector and commitment to equality and diversity through her research, project management and teaching. Kate is proudly interdisciplinary in her research and has a particular passion for exploring innovative methodology and dissemination practices.
