Roxanne Korda

Roxanne is an opera singer and writer currently enrolled on the M4C PhD DTP, researching the use of science in opera libretti and performance. She co-founded Infinite Opera in order to be able to combine her love of science, philosophy and music.

Her research focuses on how to present science as a fundamentally human activity through the use of anthropomorphisation and research into psychology. She has a BSc Hons (First) in Physics and Philosophy from King’s College London and MMus Vocal Performance (Distinction) from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her written works include; Entanglement! An Entropic Tale, Besse: Water, Rye and Hops, The Buddha and the Monkey King and The Flowering Desert.

She works with Welsh National Opera to deliver their outreach programme to the Black Country and is the Artist Tutor at MAC Birmingham on their singing programmes. She aims to continue to produce new operatic work and develop an expertise in production and performance that can be shared with future generations of performers through teaching and research.

Roxanne's research is funded by Midlands4Cities.
