Margarita's general field of study is Human Resource Management, while she specialises in coaching, leadership and workplace learning.

Margarita's research interests lie at the heart of management examining the ways in which line managers and HR departments can motivate, inspire, engage and develop individual employees and their teams to perform better and more effectively. She has presented her findings in peer-reviewed conferences, such as the British Academy of Management (BAM), the Dutch HRM Network and the International HRM Conference.

Margarita's teaching practice is informed not only by her research but also by a strong international experience (aside from the UK, she has lived, studied and/or worked in Greece, Italy, France, and Mexico). With a track record of academic excellence (among others, she has been admitted as a member to Beta Gamma Sigma Honour Society and has been awarded with a PwC scholarship), she always encourages her students to achieve their full potential, while she does her best to support them along the way.

As an elected BAM Council member, Margarita is highly involved in the organisation and delivery of capacity building events for doctoral researchers and early-career academics.

Further to the above, Margarita is one of the members of the steering committee of the BAM HRM Special Interest Group, she has been recognised as one of the Outstanding MED Reviewers in the 2014 Academy of Management Conference, while her PhD Thesis won the Best Dissertation Award (first runner up) at the HR International Conference in Sydney 2016.
