Sandra Costa
Sandra is an Associate Professor providing strategic leadership across research, education and professional practice. Her work advances understanding of landscape, wellbeing and environmental change through design research, embodied, narrative and walking based methods. She currently research on the UKRI-funded Sonic Heritage and Environmental Change project. She also leads innovation in landscape architecture education through curriculum transformation, professional accreditation, sustainability-led pedagogies and national subject development. She co-founded the award‑recognised Experimental Sustainability Studio, contributed to the QAA Subject Benchmark Statement for Landscape Architecture and shape international disciplinary directions through ECLAS, COST Actions and transnational partnerships. Her research on biophilic connections, food and cities, therapeutic landscapes and wellbeing is published in Routledge volumes, peer‑reviewed journals and international proceedings.
