The Urban Cultures Research Cluster hosts an annual seminar series and postgraduate research conference that provide platforms for critical discussion and interdisciplinary exchange on contemporary urban challenges. The cluster has also convened a number of international conferences and symposia that advance debates on urban cultures, architecture, and the social life of cities.

These include major events such as the 14th Architecture, Humanities and Research Association (AHRA) Conference Festival, Architecture and the City, the 10th EURAU (European Research on Architecture and Urbanism) Congress 2020 Multiple Identities: Reflections on European Cities, and the Midlands4Cities Dialogue Day on interdisciplinary research across art, architecture, and design. Through these activities, the cluster fosters international collaboration, supports emerging researchers, and contributes to critical conversations on the cultural, social, and spatial dynamics shaping contemporary urban environments.
