When you’re choosing which university to study at there are many factors to take into consideration.  Not only do you need to find the right course for you, that will help kick start your career in your chosen field, but you also need to feel comfortable in your surroundings – and this doesn't just mean on campus!

We are proud to be based Birmingham, with campuses in the north, south and centre of the city, giving you great access to this large, multicultural and student-focused city that has so much to offer. It even appears in the 2015 top 10 cities list in the travel handbook ‘Rough Guide’ – and is the only UK city in the list!

The regeneration of the city, from old industrial areas such as Digbeth – mentioned in the guide as one of the ‘creative hotspots’ where you can enjoy vintage shopping and street food stalls at the Custard Factory – is just one highlight. Whatever you are interested in you can find something to suit your needs, from shopping in the Bullring and The Mailbox, great nightlife on Broad Street and Brindleyplace and shows and exhibitions in the Barclaycard Arena, International Convention Centre, Ikon Gallery and Hippodrome theatre.

There are also great places to eat across the city, including the famous Balti Triangle, and iconic buildings to see such as the new Library of Birmingham, Gas Street Basin and surrounding canal network and the historic Birmingham Back to Backs. Plus, the city's growing transport links including the new Birmingham New Street station, motorways and Birmingham International Airport mean you can have easy access to other areas of the UK and abroad.

So, not only do we think Birmingham City University is a great place to study, but the city is an inspiring place to live, play and work in too, so don't forget to explore!
