A postgraduate student has been named as the winner of a national writing competition.
MA Writing student Tim Bancroft's story Beyond Reasonable Doubt was chosen by a panel of expert judges as the winner of the 2014 Orwell Society Dystopian Short Story Competition. Tim beat competition from across the country to win the prestigious honour.
Tim received a £500 prize and the George Orwell Trophy at the annual conference of the Orwell Society at the Greenwich Theatre on Saturday 25 April. Tim's story will also be published in an edition of the Orwell Society's newsletter.
