“The city and region has a vibrant music industries across both the independent and major sectors, with a pool of fantastic music talent that has a global reach.

“From Black Sabbath, Steel Pulse and UB40 to Ocean Colour Scene, The Editors, Jaws and Swim Deep and now the likes of Lady Leshurr, Jorja Smith and Laura Mvula, a Birmingham City University alumnus, Birmingham has been at the forefront of producing and globally exporting fantastic new music.

“Birmingham is often overlooked and has in the past seemed to be in the shadows of London, Manchester and Liverpool in terms of recognition as a music city.
